We need to learn because a true communist can only become a communist!

105 years ago, October 2, 1920, V. И. Lenin gave a speech at the III All-Russian Congress of the Komsomol with his famous speech “Tasks of Youth Unions”, dedicated to the tasks of communist education of youth and its role in building communism.

The speech outlines the tasks of the komsomol in building a new society, the principles of communist education of young people, the character of its organizations in a socialist society is revealed.

The first responsibility of young people is, according to Lenin, the responsibility of “learning communism”. We need to learn because a true “communist can only become a communist when you enrich your memory with the knowledge of all the riches that mankind has developed.” Lenin emphasized that only with knowledge of the culture created by the entire development of mankind, only by recycling it, one can build a proletarian culture. Mastering modern knowledge is the duty of every Komsomol resident.

The most important task of the upbringing and education of young people in B. И. Lenin considered the upbringing of communist morals. He asserted that communism should become the basis of every person’s daily activities, transform into a belief, be not only an economic, political, but also a moral ideal. Lenin did not recognize extracurricular morality. In a class society, morals are always classy. Lenin showed a close connection between communist morality with the tasks of class struggle, the interests of building communism: “Morality is what serves to destroy the old exploitative society and unite all workers around the proletariat, which creates a new society of communists.” Lenin associated the task of moral education of young people with her daily work, raising the requirements of instilling respect for work for the benefit of the whole society, and a sense of responsibility for performing her task. In his work, Lenin saw a school of communist upbringing: “Only in labor together with workers and peasants can you become true Communists.”

In his speech, Lenin revealed the face of the real builders of the new communist society – people who harmoniously combine broad education, Marxist ideology, psychology of collectivism, and communist morality.
