Public Forum: The Fight Against Trump and the New Far Right Donald Trump is pushing through his reactionary agenda. Oppressed groups such as migrants, women and trans people are under attack. Trump and his cronies are pushing through pro-business politics, where the nation’s billionaires will make massive profits while ordinary people suffer. These reactionary politics are giving confidence to a global far-right movement. How can we fight against this vile agenda? Join Socialist Alternative for this anti-capitalist discussion. This forum will include a special panel, consisting of Omar Hassan, Victorian Socialists candidate and Madi Curkovic, Monash student union officer.  With the latest attacks on Gaza, we need a fightback more now than ever. Join us for this important discussion. 6:30PM, Thursday 20 March, 83 Sydney Rd Brunswick
PROTEST: Stop Trump, Fight the Far Right In just a few weeks, Trump has launched attack after attack on oppressed people. In the first few months of his presidency we have witnessed attacks on trans people, on women, on minorities, on migrants, on Palestine activists, and on the American working class. He has empowered fascistic billionaires like Elon Musk to strut about on the world stage, and unleash massive attacks on social services and public employees. All of this has strengthened the far right in America, and emboldened the far right across the world. In Australia, figures like Peter Dutton, Pauline Hanson and Clive Palmer have been using Trumpist rhetoric and policies to whip up sexism, racism and other forms of bigotry. We have also seen a substantial increase in anti-Indigenous backlash following Dutton’s successful effort to defeat the Voice referendum. Enough is enough. Ahead of the upcoming federal election CARF is calling for a rally in opposition to these right-wingers, who have been mirroring Trump in promoting racism, sexism, and bigotry in this country. We are also demanding that the government tear up AUKUS and end the US alliance, both of which mean that both the major parties have failed to call out Trump’s appalling rhetoric and policies and make it more likely that working class Australians will be involved in future American wars and conflicts. Instead of spending money on nuclear attack submarines, we need to be supporting public schools, hospitals and social services. Saturday 5th of April, 1pm – State Library.  FACEBOOK EVENT

Join the Victorian Socialists Federal Election Campaign We desperately need an alternative to the major parties. Labor has continued the assault on working class living standards, refused to increase taxes on corporations, legislate meaningful wage increases or restore vital social services. Dutton’s Liberal party is experimenting with a vicious, hard right political agenda, inspired by Trump in America. At the same time as promising more attacks on workers, he continues to go after women, LGTBI and migrants, looking for scapegoats for the crises that Australian capitalism has created. Labor is following suit with attacks on the oppressed – cheering on Israel’s genocide on Gaza and handed over billions to Trump for AUKUS and nuclear submarines.  Victorian Socialists offers a radical alternative to all of this. None of the other smaller parties or independents stand up to the major parties. We are fighting for a politics that puts people before profits. We want to see the rich taxed to pay for workers to enjoy a high quality of living. We want to rip up AUKUS and put the money into building one million public houses. We want an end to the oppression of oppressed groups.  Join us on Friday the 28th of March at the Brunswick Town Hall from 6pm for the Victorian Socialists federal election launch party. Meet our candidates and hear from special guests.  Get your ticket today! Victorian Socialists campaigners are out and about in Melbourne delivering letters to let people know about our campaign to shake up politics. The rich are getting richer, the climate crisis is getting worse, and mainstream politics is dedicated to maintaining this status quo. We are running all across Victoria with our candidate Jordan van den Lamb (aka purplepingers) for the senate and in the lower house seats of Cooper, Scullin, Fraser and Bendigo. Check out our candidates and sign up for letterboxing or get a sign in your front yard!  Victorian Socialists
Protest: Emergency rally for Gaza
Israel is bombing Gaza – right now Israel has ripped up the ceasefire. Already over 200 have been murdered in one day, with over 100 of them children. Israeli officials have said that “2025 will be a year of war”. Israel’s plan for bombing attacks on Gaza were known in advance by Trump and his regime. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt in an address said:  “As President Trump has made clear, Hamas, the Houthis, Iran – all those who seek to terrorise not just Israel but the US – will see a price to pay, and all hell will break loose”. And now the Israeli regime is threatening another ground invasion of Gaza. This is genocide, and we need to stand against it.  The Australian government needs to cut ties with Israel – NOW. In Melbourne join us this Sunday at the state library for an emergency rally to stand with Palestine and against this attack. 12pm, Sunday 23rd of March – State Library.
