What is happening today in Palestine is historical and transformative and precisely because of that confronting it is so difficult for those who benefit from the status quo. It brings to surface everything and everyone that has been keeping the colonial structures in place. This includes not just the people who are directly involved in the violence but also those who in the garb of producing solutions to the conflict have only been using it as a site to build their careers on.
Palestine is waking up not just itself but the entire world by reminding those who have gotten too comfortable on their high horses of morality that working on decolonisation is not just a profession that you get name and fame for, it is a real transformative event that requires courage and a will that you don’t even possess as you haven’t lived under the conditions in which that will takes birth.
