THE MOBILIZATION INTENSIFIESAT SORBONNE UNIVERSITY IN PARIS !
On Monday, November 2, the student mobilization at Sorbonne University intensified significantly, with numerous sites closed, blocked, or occupied. At the Jussieu campus, a student general assembly brought together between 900 and 1,000 students in a highly combative atmosphere.
On Tuesday, November 3, the first general assembly for staff drew 450 colleagues. This assembly voted to strike on November 5 and 6, with plans to organize a “people’s university” (open educational forum) on the Jussieu campus on November 6.
The CGT FERC SUP union at Sorbonne University welcomes the growth of this mobilization.
ALL TOGETHER FOR OUR
DEMANDS!
- Against the high cost of living: wage increases and an unfreezing of the public sector pay index point
- Renovation of school and university infrastructure
- Massive recruitment of staff
- An end to selective admissions at the university
The CGT FERC SUP calls on all colleagues to participate in general assemblies and to help build unified frameworks for mobilization.
BUILD THE STRIKE TO FORCE THE
GOVERNMENT TO YIELD!
Starting November 5, many employees from both the public and private sectors will join the struggle initiated by the youth, seeking to build leverage against Macron and his government. We urge everyone to participate en masse in all proposed actions—primarily through strikes and demonstrations. CGT FERC Sup Sorbonne Université
Next general meeting at Jussieu, Friday, Nov 6, 12:00 PM, Lecture Hall 25
