Greetings from the desk of Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research.

When Dante Alighieri and his guide reach the fifth circle of hell in Inferno’s Canto VII, they come across the River Styx, where people who could not contain their anger in life now wallow and fight each other on the surface of the turbulent, muddy water, and below them lie those who had been sullen in life, their frustrations coming to the surface as bubbles:

And I, who stood intent upon beholding,
Saw people mud-besprent in that lagoon.
All of them naked and with angry look.

They smote each other not alone with hands,
But with the head and with the breast and feet,
Tearing each other piecemeal with their teeth.

Every culture depicts some variation of this characterisation of hell, in which those who have violated rules that are intended to produce a harmonious society suffer an afterlife of punishment. For instance, in the Indian Gangetic plain, centuries before Dante, the unknown authors of the Garuda Purana described the twenty-eight different narakas (hells). The similarities between Dante’s Inferno and the Garuda Purana can be explained by the common horrors and fears that human beings share: being devoured alive, drowned, and mutilated. It is as if the justice available to most people on Earth is insufficient, and so there is hope that a divine justice will eventually deliver a deferred punishment.

In January 2025, Donald Trump – who has cultivated a politics of anger that is not uncommon in our world – will be inaugurated for his second term as the president of the United States. Such a politics of anger is present in many countries, including across Europe – which otherwise sees itself as somehow above the brutal emotions and as a continent of reason. There is a temptation amongst liberals to characterise this politics of anger as fascism, but this is not accurate. Trump and his political confraternity across the world (from Giorgia Meloni in Italy to Javier Milei in Argentina) do not advertise themselves as fascists, nor do they wear the same emblems or use the same rhetoric. Though some of their followers brandish swastikas and other fascist symbols, most of them are more careful. They do not wear military uniforms, nor do they call the military out of the barracks to lend them a hand. Their politics is couched in a modern rhetoric of development and trade alongside the promise of jobs and social welfare for nationals. They point their fingers at the neoliberal pact of the old parties of liberalism and conservatism and mock them for their elitism. They elevate individuals from outside the ranks of the elites as saviours, men and women who they say will finally speak for the discarded precarious workers and the declined middle classes. They speak angrily to differentiate themselves from the old parties of liberalism and conservatism, who speak without emotion about the ghastly social and economic landscape that now exists in much of the world.

This begs the question: are the leaders of this ‘far right of a special type’ – a new kind of right wing that is intimately tied to liberalism – doing anything especially unique? A close look shows that they are merely building upon the foundation laid by the colourless leadership of the old parties of liberalism and conservativism. For example, the old parties already:

1. decimated the social fabric through privatisation and deregulation, weakened trade unions through policies of uberisation, and created insecurity and atomisation in society.
2. enforced policies that have increased inflation and deflated wages while increasing the wealth of the few through lax tax policies and rising stock markets.
3. strengthened the repressive apparatus of the state and tried to stifle dissent, including by targeting those who want to rebuild working-class movements.
4. encouraged war and devastation, such as by preventing a peace deal in Ukraine and encouraging the US-Israeli genocide of Palestinians.

Such a politics of anger is already in motion in society, though none of it was created by the far right of a special type. A world of anger is the product of the neoliberal pact of the old parties of liberalism and conservatism. It is neither the Alternative for Germany (Alternative für Deutschland, AfD), nor France’s National Rally (Rassemblement national) or Trump in his first term that have produced this world, however repellent their politics may be. When these groups win state power, they become beneficiaries of a society of anger produced by the neoliberal pact.

The language of Trump and his political family is nonetheless alarming. They speak with casual anger, and they turn that anger against the vulnerable (especially migrants and dissidents). Trump, for example, speaks of refugees as if they are vermin that need to be exterminated. Older, decadent language can be heard in the rhetoric of the far right of a special type, the language of death and disorder. But this is their tone, not their policies. The old parties of the neoliberal pact have already sent their militaries to the border, invaded the slums, cut social relief and welfare out of the budgets of their countries, and increased spending for repression at home and abroad. The old politicians of the neoliberal pact will say that the ‘economy’ is flourishing, by which they mean that the stock market is bathed in champagne; they say that they will protect the right of women to control their health but pass no legislation to do so; they say that they are for ceasefires while they authorise weapons transfers to continue war and genocide. The neoliberal pact has already dislocated society. The parties of the far right simply push away the hypocrisy. They are not the antithesis of the neoliberal pact but its more accurate mirror image.

Yet irrational anger is not the mood of the people who vote for the parties of the far right of a special type, a cliché woven by unimaginative neoliberal politicians. It is the tone of the far right of a special type’s leading politicians that would earn them a place in the fifth circle of Dante’s hell. They are the angry ones. Their elite opponents, the politicians of the old parties of liberalism and conservatism, are the sullen ones, under the mud, their emotions muffled.

In 2017, Brazil’s Perseu Abramo Foundation published a study about the political perceptions and values of the residents of São Paulo’s favelas, which found that they are in favour of more social policies of relief and welfare. They know that their hard work does not result in sufficient means, and so they hope that government policies will provide additional support. These opinions should theoretically lead to the growth of class politics. Yet the researchers found that this was not the case: instead, neoliberal ideas had flooded the favelas, leading its residents to see the primary conflict not as one between the rich and the poor, but one between the state and individuals, setting aside the role of capital. The findings of this study are replicated in many other similar investigations. It is not that the sections of the working class that turn to the far right of a special type are irrationally angry or deluded. They are clear about their experience, but they blame the degradation of their lives on the state. Can you blame them? Their relationship to the state is not shaped by social workers or welfare offices, but by the viciousness of the special police that are authorised to deny their civil and human rights. And so, they come to associate the state with the neoliberal pact and to hate it. Rising from these muddy waters, the politicians of the far right appear as potential saviours. Never mind that they have no agenda to reverse the carnage that the neoliberal policies of the old parties inflict on society: at least they purport to hate it, too.

Yet the agenda of the far right of a special type is not to solve the problems of the majority: it is to deepen them by inflicting an acerbic form of nationalism on society, one that is not rooted in love of one’s fellow human beings but in hatred of the vulnerable. This hatred then masquerades as patriotism; the size of the national flag grows, and enthusiasm for the national anthem increases by decibels. Patriotism begins to smell of anger and bitterness, of violence and frustration, of the mud of hell. It is one thing to be patriotic about flags and anthems, but it is another to be patriotic against starvation and hopelessness.

Human beings ache to be decent, but that ache has been smothered in the mud by desperation and resentment. Dante and his guide eventually make their way through the circles of hell, crossing streams and chasms to arrive at a small hole in the firmament from which they can see the stars and have their first glimpse of paradise. We ache to see the stars.

20/09/2024 அன்று asiacommune.org இலிருந்து மேற்கோள் காட்டப்பட்டது “செப்டம்பர் 21, 2024 அன்று தேர்தலுக்குப் பிறகு, இரண்டு கருத்துக் கணிப்பு முடிவுகள் வரவுள்ளன”. 1. மக்கள், மக்களே கொண்டு வந்த மாற்றத்தின் விளைவு 2. போலி இடதுசாரிக் குழுக்கள் மற்றும் இடதுசாரிகளாகக் காட்டிக் கொள்ளும் கட்சிகளின் அரசியலின் முடிவை அறிவிக்கும் முடிவு.

ஆசியா-கம்யூன் அறிவித்தபடி இரண்டு முடிவுகளும் வெளியிடப்பட்டன.

பல தசாப்தங்களாக, முதலாளித்துவத்தால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட மக்கள் ஜனாதிபதித் தேர்தலின் மூலம் வாக்களிப்பதன் மூலம் தங்கள் நிலையைச் சிறப்பாகச் செய்தார்கள். கடந்த 76 ஆண்டுகளில் ஆட்சி செய்த அனைத்து ஊழல் குடும்பங்களையும் மக்கள் தோற்கடித்தனர்.

அதற்குப் பதிலாக 1965 முதல் போலி இடதுசாரிக் கட்சியாக இருந்த ஜனதா விமுக்தி பெரமுனவின் (ஜேவிபி) தலைவர் அனுரகுமார திஸாநாயக்க புதிய ஜனாதிபதியாக நியமிக்கப்பட்டார். செப்டம்பர் 2024 இல் அவர்கள் தேசிய மக்கள் சக்தி (NPP) என்ற பெயரில் ஜனாதிபதித் தேர்தலில் போட்டியிட்டனர். . ஆனால் அதன் உள் பலமாக ஜனதா விமுக்தி பெரமுனா (ஜேவிபி) இருந்தது.

2024 செப்டம்பரில் அவர்கள் ஆட்சிக்கு வருவதற்கு முன், எந்தவொரு புதிய சமூகப் பொருளாதாரத் திட்டத்திலும் அவர்களுக்கு முன் பயிற்சி இல்லை. அதே போல், புதிய சமூக-பொருளாதார மாதிரிகளை பரிசோதிக்கும் புரட்சிகர குழுக்களுடன் சர்வதேச உறவுகளுக்கான முன் அனுபவங்கள் எதுவும் இல்லை. உலகம். பல தசாப்தங்களாக சிங்களப் பேரினவாதத்தால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட தமிழ் மக்களுக்கு முன்னுரிமை கூட வழங்கப்படவில்லை. தெற்காசிய மக்களுடன் ஒற்றுமையைக் கட்டியெழுப்ப ஒரு முன்னோக்கு கூட இல்லை.

2024 ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டெம்பர் 21 ஆம் திகதி முதல் சூழ்நிலையின் படி அனுரகுமார திஸாநாயக்க உலக முதலாளித்துவத்தின் இலங்கைப் பிரதிநிதியாக ஆனார். நொறுங்கிக் கிடக்கும் முதலாளித்துவ வீட்டிற்குள் அவர் மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் நுழைந்தார்.

இந்த நுழைவுடன் அவரது போலி இடதுசாரி முகம் முற்றிலும் முடிந்துவிட்டது. மேலும், நவம்பர் 14, 2024க்குப் பிறகு, முதலாளித்துவச் சட்டத்திற்கான அதிகாரத்தையும் அவர்கள் பெறுவார்கள். 225 திருடர்கள் இருந்த நிலையில் ஞானஸ்நானம் பெற்ற அரசியலமைப்பு சபைக்குள் அவர்கள் நுழைவார்கள்.

அதேபோன்று, இந்த நாடாளுமன்றத் தேர்தலில் போட்டியிடும் ஏனைய போலி இடதுசாரிக் கட்சிகளும், அதே சித்தாந்தங்களை வழிநடத்தும் குழுக்களும் அரசியல் ரீதியாகவும் தேர்தலிலும் தோற்கடிக்கப்படும்.

டொனால்ட் டிரம்ப் (தீவிர வலதுசாரி) வாக்களிக்க தகுதியான அமெரிக்க குடிமக்களின் வெறும் 30% வாக்குகளைப் பெற்று தேர்தலில் வெற்றிபெற முடிந்தது. அவரை எதிர்த்து போட்டியிட்ட கமலா ஹாரிஸ் 29% வாக்குகள் பெற்றார். 40.3% அமெரிக்கர்கள் தேர்தலில் வாக்களிக்கவில்லை. இன்று உலகெங்கிலும் உள்ள முக்கிய தேர்தல்களிலும் இதே சூழலையே காணமுடிகிறது. 30% வாக்குகளைப் பெற்ற ட்ரம்பின் வெற்றி, இந்தியாவின் இந்து இனவெறி மோடி ஆட்சிக்கு வலு சேர்க்கும்.

உலக உழைக்கும் மக்களுக்கு இந்தத் தேர்தல் பொறியிலிருந்து ஒரு வழி தேவை. பாராளுமன்றத் தேர்தலின் இந்த தருணத்தில், ஆக்கப்பூர்வமாக சிந்திக்குமாறு ஆசிய கம்யூன் நவீன இடது மனப்பான்மை கொண்ட மக்களை கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறது.

தெற்காசியப் பகுதியில் உள்ள ஒடுக்கப்பட்ட மக்களுக்கான பிரச்சனைகளை விவரிப்பதை நிறுத்துமாறு கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறோம், அதற்கான தீர்வுகளை விவரிக்க முன்மொழிந்தோம். சர்வதேச நாணய நிதியம் (IMF), உலக வங்கி, உலக வர்த்தக அமைப்பு (WTO), ஆசிய வளர்ச்சி வங்கி ஆகியவற்றைப் பற்றி விவரிப்பதை மட்டும் நிறுத்திவிடுவோம், ஆனால் புதிய பொருளாதார மாதிரி மற்றும் வங்கி முறையை அனுபவிப்பதற்கான முயற்சியைத் தொடங்குமாறு கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறோம். உழைக்கும் மக்களுடன்.

We published (asiacommune.org) the opinion of Asia commune regarding the presidential election which was held on 21^st September 2024 in Sri Lanka. According to the document It discussed a double result of the presidential election.

1. People, the result of change brought by the people themselves

2. Result notifying the end of the politics of pseudo leftist groups and parties posing as leftists.

Both results were released as announced by the Asia-Commune.

In decades, the people who has been suffering from capitalism that they did their level best from votes by the presidential election.  People defeated all the corrupted families who ruled them during last 76 years.

Instead of that replaced Anura Kumara Dissanayake as new president who is the leader of Janatha Vimukti Peramuna (JVP) which was a pseudo left oriented party since 1965. In September 2024, they contested the presidential election under the name of National People’s Power (NPP). But its internal strength was Janata Vimukti Peramuna (JVP).

They had no pre-training in any new social economic program before they electing to the power in September 2024. As well as there were no pre-experiences for international relations with the revolutionary groups those who are experimenting the new socio-economic models in the world. Even not been given a priority to the Tamil people who has been suffering from Sinhalese chauvinism in decades. There was no also a perspective to build up the solidarity with south Asian people.

According to the circumstances since 21^st of September 2024, Anura Kumara Dissanayake became the Sri Lankan representative of global capitalism. He has entered to the home of crumbling capitalism with joyfully.

With this entrance his pseudo leftist face was completely over. And also, after 14th November 2024, they will get the power to capitalist legislation too.  They will enter to the constitutional council with baptized mind where there were 225 thieves involved.

As same as, the other pseudo leftist parties and the groups who are contesting for this parliamentary election which are directing the same ideologies will also be defeated politically and also by the election.

Donald Trump (extreme right wing) was able to win the election by getting just 30% of the votes of U.S citizens eligible to vote. His opponent, Kamala Harris, received 29% of the vote. 40.3% of Americans were abstained the voting of the election. At the major elections in all over the world today can be seen the same this circumstance. Trump’s victory, which received 30% of the vote, will be strengthened India’s Hindu racist Modi regime.

The working people of the world will be needed a way out of this electoral trap. At this moment of parliament election, the Asia commune appeals to the modern left minded people to think as creatively.

we plea to stop describing the problems to the oppressed people in South Asian region and we proposed to describe the solutions.

We would like to plea, let’s stop only to describe about the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank, World Trade Organization (WTO), Asian Development Bank but we plea to initiate making an effort to experience a new economic model and banking system with the working people.    

In order to build up such a revolutionary journey, much needed to defeat the pseudo leftist movements. It is becoming so. If we wish to be happy, needed to sacrifice an energetic power to create a new regional revolutionary movement. Asia Commune works for it. Asia Commune peals to you to join with this struggle.

ආසියා කොමියුනය ප්‍රකාශ කල පරිදි එම ප්‍රතිඵල දෙකම නිකුත් විය.

දශක ගනණාවක් ධනවාදයෙන් බැට කෑ ජනතාව ඡන්දයෙන් කල හැකි දෑ සිදු කලේය. වසර 76 ක් තමන්ව පාලනය කල සියළුම දූශිත පවුල් ඡන්දයෙන් පරාජය කලේය.

ඒ වෙනුවට 1965 සිට ව්‍යාජ වාම මුහුණුවරක් පෙන්නුම් කල ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුණේ (JVP) නායක අනුර කුමාර දිසානායක ජනාධිපති බවට පත් කලේය. 2024 සැප්තැම්බරයේ ඔවුන් ජනාධිපතිවරණයට ඉදිරිපත් වූයේ ජාතික ජනබල වේගය( NPP) නමිනි. නමුත් එහි අභ්‍යන්තර ශක්තිය ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුණ (JVP ) විය.

2024 සැප්තැම්බරයේ ඔවුන් බලය ලබා ගැනිමට පෙර කිසියම් හෝ නව සමාජ ආර්ථික වැඩපිළිවෙලක පෙර පුහුණුවක සිටියේ නැත. ලෝකයේ නව සමාජ ආර්ථික මොඩලයන් අත්හදා බලන විප්ලවිය කණ්ඩායම් සමඟ ජාත්‍යන්තර ගණුදෙනුවක පෙර සූදානමකද නොසිටියේය. දශක ගණනාවක් ජාතිවාදි පදනමෙන් වේදනා විදි දමිළ ජනතාවගේ දේශපාලන ගැටළු ප්‍රමුඛත්වයේ ලා සැලකුවේ ද නැත. දකුණු ආසියානු කලාපිය ජනයා සමඟ සහයෝගිතාවයක් සදහා ඉදිරි දර්ශනයක්ද තිබුනේ නැත.

එවැනි තත්වයක් තුල 2024 සැප්තැම්බර් 21 වන දින සිටම අනුර කුමාර දිසානායක ගෝලිය ධනවාදයේ ශ්‍රි ලංකාවේ නියෝජිතයා විය. කඩා වැටෙන ගෝලිය ධනවාදයේ ජරා වාස වූ නිවසට ඔහු සොම්නසින් ඇතුල් වී ඇත.

එසේ ඇතුල්විමත් සමග ඔහුගේ ව්‍යාජ වාම මුහුණුවර සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම අවසන් විය. 2024 නොවැම්බර් 14 වන දිනෙන් පසු ධනපති නීති සම්පාදනයට ද බලය ලබා ගන්නවා  ඇත. 225 ක්ම සොරුන් සිටි ව්‍යවස්ථාදායකයට ඔවුන් බැති සිතින් ඇතුල්වනු ඇත.

එම දිශාව බලාගෙනම පාර් ලිමේන්තු මැතිවරණයට තරඟ කරන අනෙකුත් ව්‍යාජ වාම කණ්ඩායම් ද මැතිවරණයෙන් මෙන්ම දේශපාලයෙන්ද පරාජය විම ස්ථීරය.

2024 නොවැම්බර් 05 වන දින 30% ක ජන්ද ප්‍රතිශතයක් ලබා ගත් ඩොනල්ඩ් ට්‍රම්ප් ( අන්ත දක්ෂිණාංශික) ඇමරිකානු ජනාධිපති විය. ඔහුගේ ප්‍රතිවාදියා වූ කමලා හැරිස් 29% ජන්ද ප්‍රතිශතයක් ලබා ගත්තේය.  මෙහිදී ජන්ද දිමෙන් වැලකී සිටි ඇමරිකානුවන් ප්‍රමාණය 40.3% ක ප්‍රතිශතයකි. ලෝකය පුරාම ප්‍රධාන මැතිවරණ වල මෙවැනි තත්වයක් දැකිය හැක. 30% ක ජන්ද ප්‍රතිශතයක් ලබා ගත් ට්‍රම්ගේ ජයග්‍රහණය ඉන්දියානු හින්දු ජාතිවාදී මෝදි පාලනයට ද ශක්තියක් විය.

ලෝක වැඩකරන ජනතාවට මෙම මැතිවරණ උගුලෙන් එළියට පැමිණිමට මාවතක් අවශ්‍යය වි ඇත. මෙම පාර්ලිමේන්තු මැතිවරණ මොහොතේදී නූතන අදහස් ඇති වාමාංශිකයන්ට නිර්මාණාත්මකව සිතන මෙන් ආසියා කොමියුනය ආයාචනය කරමු.

දකුණු ආසියානු කලාපයේ පීඩිත ජනයාට ගැටළු විස්තර කිරිම නවතා දමා විසඳුම් විස්තර කරන ලෙස ආයාචනය කරමු.

ජාත්‍යන්තර මූල්‍ය අරමුදල (IMF), ලෝක බැංකුව, ලෝක වෙළද සංවිධානය (WTO), ආසියානු සංවර්ධන බැංකුව පිළිබඳ විස්තර කිරීම පමණක් නොකර නූතන ආර්ථික මොඩලයක්, බැංකු ක්‍රමයක් ප්‍රායෝගිකව වැඩ කරන ජනතාව සමඟ අත්හදා බැලිමට ආයාචනය කරමු.

Greetings from the desk of Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research.

For the past few weeks I have been on the road in Aotearoa (New Zealand) and Australia at the invitation of groups such as Te Kuaka, Red Ant, and the Communist Party of Australia. Both countries were shaped by British colonialism, marked by the violent displacement of native communities and theft of their lands. Today, as they become part of the US-led militarisation of the Pacific, their native populations have fought to defend their lands and way of life.

On 6 February 1840, Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) was signed by representatives of the British Crown and the Māori groups of Aotearoa. The treaty (which has no point of comparison in Australia) claimed that it would ‘actively protect Māori in the use of their lands, fisheries, forests, and other treasured possessions’ and ‘ensure that both parties to [the treaty] would live together peacefully and develop New Zealand together in partnership’. While I was in Aotearoa, I learned that the new coalition government seeks to ‘reinterpret’ the Treaty of Waitangi in order to roll back protections for Māori families. This includes shrinking initiatives such as the Māori Health Authority (Te Aka Whai Ora) and programmes that promote the use of the Māori language (Te Reo Maori) in public institutions. The fight against these cutbacks has galvanised not only the Māori communities, but large sections of the population who do not want to live in a society that violates its treaties. When Aboriginal Australian Senator Lidia Thorpe disrupted the British monarch Charles’s visit to the country’s parliament last month, she echoed a sentiment that spreads across the Pacific, yelling, as she was dragged out by security: ‘You committed genocide against our people. Give us our land back! Give us what you stole from us – our bones, our skulls, our babies, our people. … We want a treaty in this country. … You are not my king. You are not our king’.

With or without a treaty, both Aotearoa and Australia have seen a groundswell of sentiment for increased sovereignty across the islands of the Pacific, building on a centuries-long legacy. This wave of sovereignty has now begun to turn towards the shores of the massive US military build-up in the Pacific Ocean, which has its sights set on an illusionary threat from China. US Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall, speaking at a September 2024 Air & Space Forces Association convention on China and the Indo-Pacific, represented this position well when he said ‘China is not a future threat. China is a threat today’. The evidence for this, Kendall said, is that China is building up its operational capacities to prevent the United States from projecting its power into the western Pacific Ocean region. For Kendall, the problem is not that China was a threat to other countries in East Asia and the South Pacific, but that it is preventing the US from playing a leading role in the region and surrounding waters – including those just outside of China’s territorial limits, where the US has conducted joint ‘freedom of navigation’ exercises with its allies. ‘I am not saying war in the Pacific is imminent or inevitable’, Kendall continued. ‘It is not. But I am saying that the likelihood is increasing and will continue to do so’.

In 1951, in the midst of the Chinese Revolution (1949) and the US war on Korea (1950–1953), senior US foreign policy advisor and later Secretary of State John Foster Dulles helped formulate several key treaties, such as the 1951 Australia, New Zealand, and United States Security (ANZUS) Treaty, which brought Australia and New Zealand firmly out of British influence and into the US’s war plans, and the 1951 San Francisco Peace Treaty, which ended the formal US occupation of Japan. These deals – part of the US’s aggressive strategy in the region – came alongside the US occupation of several island nations in the Pacific where the US had already established military facilities, including ports and airfields: Hawaii (since 1898), Guam (since 1898), and Samoa (since 1900). Out of this reality, which swept from Japan to Aotearoa, Dulles developed the ‘island chain strategy’, a so-called containment strategy that would establish a military presence on three ‘island chains’ extending outward from China to act as an aggressive perimeter and prevent any power other than the US from commanding the Pacific Ocean.

Over time, these three island chains became hardened strongholds for the projection of US power, with about four hundred bases in the region established to maintain US military assets from Alaska to southern Australia. Despite signing various treaties to demilitarise the region (such as the South Pacific Nuclear Free Treaty, also known as the Treaty of Rarotonga in 1986), the US has moved lethal military assets, including nuclear weapons, through the region for threat projection against China, North Korea, Russia, and Vietnam (at different times and with different intensity). This ‘island chain strategy’ includes military installations in French colonial outposts such as Wallis and Futuna, New Caledonia, and French Polynesia. The US also has military arrangements with the Federated States of Micronesia, the Marshall Islands, and Palau.

While some of these Pacific Island nations are used as bases for US and French power projection against China, others have been used as nuclear test sites. Between 1946 and 1958, the US conducted sixty-seven nuclear tests in the Marshall Islands. One of them, conducted in Bikini Atoll, detonated a thermonuclear weapon a thousand times more powerful than the nuclear bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Darlene Keju Johnson, who was only three years old at the time of the Bikini Atoll detonation and was one of the first Marshallese women to speak publicly about the nuclear testing in the islands, encapsulated the sentiment of the islanders in one of her speeches: ‘We don’t want our islands to be used to kill people. The bottom line is we want to live in peace’.

Yet, despite the resistance of people like Keju Johnson (who went on to become a director in the Marshall Islands Ministry of Health), the US has been ramping up its military activity in the Pacific over the past fifteen years, such as by refusing to close bases, opening new ones, and expanding others to increase their military capacity. In Australia – without any real public debate – the government decided to supplement US funding to expand the runway on Tindal Air Base in Darwin so that it could house US B-52 and B-1 bombers with nuclear capacity. It also decided to expand submarine facilities from Garden Island to Rockingham and build a new high-tech radar facility for deep-space communications in Exmouth. These expansions came on the heels of the Australia-United Kingdom-United States (AUKUS) partnership in 2021, which has allowed the US and the UK to fully coordinate their strategies. The partnership also sidelined the French manufacturers that until then had supplied Australia with diesel-powered submarines and ensured that it would instead buy nuclear-powered submarines from the UK and US. Eventually, Australia will provide its own submarines for the missions the US and UK are conducting in the waters around China.

Over the past few years, the US has also sought to draw Canada, France, and Germany into the US Pacific project through the US Pacific Partnership Strategy for the Pacific Islands (2022) and the Partnership for the Blue Pacific (2022). In 2021, at the France-Oceania Summit, there was a commitment to reengage with the Pacific, with France bringing new military assets into New Caledonia and French Polynesia. The US and France have also opened a dialogue about coordinating their military activities against China in the Pacific.

Yet these partnerships are only part of the US ambitions in the region. The US is also opening new bases in the northern islands of the Philippines – the first such expansion in the country since the early 1990s – while intensifying its arm sales with Taiwan, to whom it is providing lethal military technology (including missile defence and tank systems intended to deter a Chinese military assault). Meanwhile the US has improved its coordination with Japan’s military by deciding to establish joint force headquarters, which means that the command structure for US troops in Japan and South Korea will be autonomously controlled by the US command structure in these two Asian countries (not by orders from Washington).

However, the US-European war project is not going as smoothly as anticipated. Protest movements in the Solomon Islands (2021) and New Caledonia (2024), led by communities who are no longer willing to be subjected to neocolonialism, have come as a shock to the US and its allies. It will not be easy for them to build their island chain in the Pacific.

Una movilización nacional de solidaridad con Valencia atraviesa España. Jóvenes, mujeres, niños, trabajadores, campesinos portando escobas, baldes, lavandina, y toda clase de enseres  bajo la consigna “Solo el pueblo salva al pueblo“ se moviliza desde todos los rincones del país en apoyo del pueblo de Valencia. La consigna se ha convertido en un grito de guerra para apoyar a pueblos como Aldaia, Torrent, Alaquàs, Alfafar, Catarroja, Sedaví, Llombai, Catadau, Requena, Alzira, Montserrat, Cheste, Riba-roja y Chiva golpeados por la devastadora tormenta DANA que azotó la región.

Esta movilización es una acción independiente que no ha sido convocada ni por los partidos políticos, ni por la monarquía, ni por las organizaciones sociales, ni los sindicatos. Es una acción que ha partido en forma espontánea con miles de voluntarios que están llegando desde toda España, incluyendo Madrid, Galicia, Extremadura, Aragón, Cataluña y Asturias. Han viajado a Valencia para echar una mano, y están desempeñando un papel decisivo en la limpieza de escombros, la distribución de alimentos y agua, y la prestación de apoyo muy necesario a las familias afectadas en un movimiento es totalmente independiente impulsado por un poderoso sentido de la solidaridad, fraternidad y apoyo constituyendo una conmovedora respuesta popular.

La criminal, asesina y brutal política del gobierno  

La DANA que azotó Valencia ha sido una de las peores catástrofes naturales en la historia moderna de nuestro país con lluvias torrenciales e inundaciones repentinas que han causado al menos 219 muertes en la región, con la mayoría de las víctimas en la comarca de Huerta Sur, 87 desaparecidos, destrucción de pueblos y más de 67 carreteras que han quedado cortadas. Una DANA (Depresión Aislada en Niveles Altos) es un fenómeno meteorológico que se produce cuando una masa de aire frío se encuentra con una masa de aire cálido, generando lluvias intensas y tormentas eléctricas. 

Estas depresiones suelen ser de corta duración pero pueden causar inundaciones y daños significativos debido a la cantidad de lluvia que cae en poco tiempo.  También conocido como “gota fría”, ha provocado fuertes inundaciones en Valencia y otras áreas con lluvias intensas y repentinas, que afectan gravemente tanto a personas como a infraestructuras y medios de vida.

El 29 de octubre del 2024 la DANA comenzó a golpear Valencia, pero junto al desastre climatológico se sumo la criminal, asesina y brutal politica del gobierno de la Generalitat de Valencia encabezado por Carlos Mazón del Partido Popular (PP), así como el gobierno nacional de Pedro Sánchez (PSOE- SUMAR). Nadie dio aviso a la población del impacto de la DANA, a pesar de que el domingo 27 de octubre de 2024,a las 13:50 horas, la AEMET emitió una aviso comunicando la grave situación metereológica que se cernía sobre la Comunidad Valenciana :

Una DANA situada hoy,domingo en el interior peninsular permanecerá casi estacionaria durante buena parte de la semana próxima y producirá precipitaciones generalizadas en la Península y Baleares, con mayor probabilidad e intensidad en la vertiente mediterránea. Se esperan chubascos muy fuertes sin poder descartar, a día de hoy, que alcancen localmente intensidad torrencial, además de ser persistentes e ir acompañados de rachas de viento muy fuertes. Es probable que en puntos de la Comunidad Valenciana y Murcia se superen los 150 mm en 24 horas.

Pero, ante esta siniestra perspectiva climatológica que hizo la Generalitat Valenciana con Carlos Mazón del PP al frente, desoír la alerta de manera deliberada, priorizando la actividad económica de la burguesía local  en un alarde de inhumanidad y crueldad alucinantes y no dando la alarma hasta las 20:15 h del martes 29 de octubre, cuando la situación ya era trágica e irreversible. 

De ello podemos deducir, que de haber actuado correctamente se podían haber salvado cientos de vidas y esto contrasta de forma inapelable con otras entidades como la Diputaci´ón  de Valencia y la Universidad de Valencia que dieron ese día libre a todos sus trabajadores.

A este respecto, cabe destacar otra cuestión más: ¿Por qué el Gobierno Central no decretó de inmediato el estado de emergencia nacional?, ¿A qué se debe que ambas administraciones capitalistas, tanto la regional como la central, se vieran envueltas en un maremágnum de 

descoordinación y perfidia política,? De este desastroso accionar se derivó toda una cadena de desastres para la población afectada, ya que tardaron cinco días en desplegar los efectivos de la UME (Unidad Militar de Emergencias), la única capaz de poner orden en el caos provocado por la DANA, puesto, que de todos es sabido, disponen del material necesario para ello.

De la misma manera, queremos incidir en un dato que probablemente haya pasado desapercibido para muchos, y no es otro que la decisión de la Generalitat Valencia de rechazar, en esos primeros días de la tragedia, toda la ayuda institucional e internacional ofrecida y ,por si fuera poco, la de no permitir el acceso a los familiares de las víctimas y los desaparecidos a la Feria de Valencia, improvisada morgue hasta el momento.

Descoordinaciones e ineptitud de las administraciones capitalistas a la hora de prestar auxilio a las víctimas de la DANA a parte, hay algo a tener muy en cuenta. Durante décadas de malas gestiones, en la Comunidad Valenciana se han permitido y promovido un desarrollo inmobiliario desaforado, sin orden ni concierto, basado en la especulación sin escrúpulos de los empresarios de la construcción, que a través del tráfico de influencias han conseguido urbanizar amplias zonas del territorio que de todos era sabido estaban declaradas como inundables, pero eso, tanto a las autoridades  políticas como a los 

especuladores les dio exactamente igual. Tanto fue así, que ambos exigieron la retirada de los mapas de zonas inundables porque esto paralizaba las licencias de construcción. De esta manera y durante lustros de corruptelas y corto`placismos políticos, es como se ha fraguado la tragedia que hoy en día tenemos ante nosotros. Responsabilizamos al gobiernos regional, nacional, y a  todas las instituciones del régimen de la Moncloa por los muertos, desaparecidos y la destrucción de Valencia.

Solo el pueblo salva al pueblo 

Si la política de Carlos Mazón y el PP en la Generalitat Valenciana y la de Pedro Sánchez y el PSOE- SUMAR fue criminal antes de la DANA, tras la DANA su política fue completamente criminal. Tras producirse la DANA, como cualquier otro desastre climatológico, existe una cantidad limitada de horas para actuar lo que puede salvar vidas humanas. Sin embargo, terminada la DANA ni la Generalitat Valenciana, ni el gobierno nacional enviaron recursos para salvar vidas, o rescatar a los damnificados. Debieron contratar hotelería para albergar a las familias damnificadas, retirar inmediatamente los cadáveres, rescatar las personas atrapadas, limpiar calles, casas, recuperar infraestructura, etc.

Ninguna de estas medidas fueron adoptadas por el gobierno regional, ni por el gobierno nacional. Ambos gobiernos capitalistas actuaron priorizando la defensa del capitalismo, el estado y sus recursos, por lo cual en los primeras 48 y 72 h de acontecida la DANA no apareció.

 en los pueblos de Valencia ni el ejército, ni tropas de ningún tipo, ni médicos u enfermeros enviados por el estado. No hubo transporte para el traslado de víctimas, lo que predominó fue el abandono de la población a su suerte. Los bomberos franceses que llegaron se asombraban de que eran los primeros en llegar al rescate. Los gobiernos rechazaron la ayuda ofrecida por otros países y cuando comenzó el arribo masivo de voluntarios comenzaron a evitar la llegada de mas voluntarios impidiendo que ingresen por las rutas y enviándolos de vuelta a sus casas. Las instituciones de la Moncloa ya sea la monarquía, el gobierno central y la Generalitat de Valencia le temen mas a la autoorganización y movilización popular que a los efectos brutales de la DANA.

Saben que si la movilización y autoorganización popular continúa, se desarrolla y extiende resulta en un cuestionamiento de todo el régimen político capitalista español, por eso han desarrollado una política criminal en defensa del estado burgués que es repudiada por la población. Por eso, cuando el Rey Felipe, la reina y Pedro Sánchez en nombre del gobierno central visitaron Valencia fueron repudiados por la población que les profería toda clase de insultos, les arrojaron barro, y les expresaron públicamente su rechazo en imágenes que dieron la vuelta al mundo en las cuales la población de Valencia expresó un sentimiento de todo el pueblo español a las instituciones de la Moncloa. 

Por una salida revolucionaria para España

Lo que coloca sobre la mesa el desastre sucedido en Valencia es que la única verdadera ayuda que ha llegado a la población afectada es la de los miles de voluntarios que se han movilizado en forma independiente del estado capitalista, y sus partidos políticos. Esta movilización sintetizada en la consigna “Sólo el pueblo salva al pueblo” muestra la existencia de un ascenso revolucionario mundial que se expresa en todos los países y regiones del mundo, en las cuales los trabajadores y el pueblo salen a resolver sus problemas del hambre, la pobreza, la opresiones, etc. enfrentando a los gobiernos y estados capitalistas en todo el mundo.

Carlos Mazón el jefe de la Generalitat de Valencia es un ejemplo más de esa nueva hornada de dirigentes salida del Partido Popular que ingresaron en la política para medrar y posteriormente colocarse en la empresa privada. Eran los “hijos de la gran burguesía española que con un título universitario bajo el brazo se colaron en las instituciones, lo mismo que Pumariega en Gijón, Queipo en Oviedo, Ayuso en Madrid, López Miras en Murcia, Alfonso Rueda en Galicia, etc. Los niños pijos, los cayetanos, los mayores truhanes, los burguesitos que se erigieron salvaguardas de la propiedad privada y el latrocinio de las administraciones burguesas.

 Cambio climático y Capitalismo

La evidencia científica del calentamiento del sistema climático es inequívoca. El Grupo Intergubernamental de Expertos sobre el Cambio Climático, ha planteado que los núcleos de hielo extraídos de Groenlandia, la Antártida y los glaciares de las montañas tropicales muestran que el clima de la Tierra responde a los cambios en los niveles de gases de efecto invernadero. También se puede encontrar evidencia antigua en anillos de árboles, sedimentos oceánicos, arrecifes de coral y capas de rocas sedimentarias. 

Esta evidencia antigua, o paleoclima, revela que el calentamiento actual está ocurriendo aproximadamente 10 veces más rápido que la tasa promedio de calentamiento después de una edad de hielo. El dióxido de carbono de las actividades humanas está aumentando unas 250 veces más rápido que el de las fuentes naturales después de la última Edad de Hielo.( Fuente: página oficial de la NASA).

La conclusión, que el calentamiento global va 10 veces más rápido que si fuera hipotéticamente de origen natural, de lo que se puede deducir que está provocado por la actividad industrial incontrolada del capitalismo mundial.

El colapso del capitalismo se expresa en el cambio climático, junto al hambre y pobreza, quiebras, atasco global en el comercio, etc. y la tragedia en Valencia ha expuesto la incompetencia y manipulación política, con el PP evadiendo responsabilidades y la derecha instrumentalizando el dolor para avivar su agenda reaccionaria, así como el discurso “progresista”, que allí igual que el reaccionario están para defender la España capitalista. 

Frente a este desastre que presentan los partidos de la Moncloa, la única salida seria en nuestra país es la salida revolucionaria. La movilización de miles de activistas en todo el país bajo la consigna “Solo el pueblo salva al pueblo” pone de manifiesto la necesidad de construir una herramienta revolucionaria para abolir el capitalismo español, incapaz de garantizar las mas mínimas garantías para el pueblo. Convocamos a aquellos honestos activistas que buscan una salida revolucionaria a construir La Marx España, una alternativa Marxista y revolucionaria para luchar por la España socialista y el Socialismo Global.

අපරාධ නඩු විධාන සංග්‍රහය අනුව නීතිපතිට බලයක් ඇතත්,  නඩුවක කරුණු සැලකිලලට ගෙන එම නඩුව ඉදිරියට පවත්වා ගෙන යෑම අනවශය බව නීතිපට තිරණය කළ හැකිවුවත් අපරාධ නඩුවකදී අපරාධයක් ගැන කරුණු වාර්තා වෙලා තිබියද‍ිත් මහේස්ත්‍රාත්වරයෙකු විසින් අපරාධයක් බවට නිගමනය කර ඇති විට හා ඒ සම්බන්ධ මහේස්ත්‍රාත් විසින් නියෝගයක් ලබා දී තිබියදීත් ඒ වැනි අවස්ථාවක් නඩුවක් ඉල්ලා අස්කර ගැනීම බරපතළ ගැටළුවක් මෙන්ම යුක්තිය සොයා යෑමේ මාර්ගය සම්පුර්ණයෙන් හකුලා දැමිමකි.
